Irina: HE & SHE. A life situation for discussion

I want to bring up a little situation for discussion today. It's a real life situation, and I have dealt with similar epizodes more than once in my practice. You know, being an interpreter and counselor for internetional couples, one has to deal with many interesting real life scenes. I'll call my characters He and She. Here is the story.

HE and SHE were acquainted only for a few days, but they seemed to like each other from the very first meeting. He adored her shyness and sincerity which is not common among women one meets via dating companies. Her eyes told him a lot about her inner world; there was unusual depth and some sadness in these eyes which attracted him even more, driving him crasy in desire to know this woman's secret.

In her turn, She admired irresistable tenderness of this strong, big and straightforward guy of a few words.

On their fourth date, just when he was almost ready to say something significant to lead the relationship into a more intimate level, her phone rang. It was apparently a man's voice in the receiver. A little shade of irritation touched her face, she said a few quick phrases in Russian and turned her phone dead. He appreciated this gesture, for by doing this, she gave her full attention to him this evening.

They had a great evening together dining in a small romantic restaurant, walking around a park and talking. As it was dark when she had to go home, he decided to take her to her door by a taxi; then go to his rented apartment by the same car. She hesitated a little, but accepted this.

During the taxi ride home, they were already missing each other wishing tomorrow evening would come soon, so they could meet again. She asked the driver to stop outside her house in the street, she kissed him goodnight and stepped into the darkness of her yard.

His taxi started moving ahead and around the corner, when he had a bad feeling about letting her go across the dark yard to her flat, so he asked the driver to stop and wait, and walked into the dark yard to see if she had made her way home safely.

There was another little thought in his mind - he waned to see her window light up when she enters her room - you know, just like it happens in romantic movies. He suddenly realized that he was falling in love, and each moment of this night acquired a special significance to him, teasing him with a sweet taste of adventure and anticipation.

As soon as he entered the dark area in the yard, he heard two voices. One was an irritated voice of a young man, the other was Hers! According to intonations, they were certainly having a row. They were standing outside the entrance door and tried not to speak loudly in the night, but expressing hot emotions in whisper may sound more scary than yelling at each other, you know.

He did not know what they were discussing, but this kind of talk could only happen between two people who'd lived together for quite a while. You know, a classical family row. Well, they yelled at each other in terrifying whisper for a few minutes, and then the shadow of the oening door ran to his feet and sank in the darkness of the spot where he was standing. The two people proceeded into the entrance and up to their home. Her window had been lighted long ago, because apparently, the man was waiting for her inside and grew unhappy because of her late returning.

Well, what to do? HE stood there for a minute, and slowly went back to his taxi.

I won't provide any comments here today, but I am hoping to discuss this with you again soon. What do you think? What can HE do now? What would you do in His situation? Your opinions are very welcome.

The best thing would be to go up to that apartment and talk with the two of them.

Many men want to meet a woman who has no boyfriend at all or who has no past experience with men. I meet foreign men via a local dating service quite often, because I'd like to marry a foreign man. I met men who wanted a woman with no past relationship. I think it is not natural, because we all live in community of people and it is normal for a beautiful woman to have relationships with men. If she has not found man of her dream, she looks for him. How can she do it sitting at home?

The woman in this story possibly is not happy with this man and wants to find someone other. Some times it is hard to leave a man with very possessive character. I am sorry for this woman.

I think that each woman must have a right to choose. It's not easy only concentrate on her foreign friend/boyfriend whom she sees not very often. There are dozens of local men surround her. Life gives her search wider and a choice - difficult.

My wife and I had a similar situation in the very beginning of our relationship. There was a guy who did not want to let her go. He kept following her and spied after her. We had a talk about this with my girl and I understood that it was not her fault. After all, each of us has some experiences from the past, right? I took this guy as someone from her past and ignored the whole thing.
We are married for 8 years now. We are happy. If I ran away even without a talk then, I would call myself a fool today.

I would stop all this immediately. I don't want to start a relationship with catching her on lies.

By the way, Irina, it's a well written story!
