Self-Improvement
All people try to play the game of self-improvement with themselves at least once in their lilves. Since early chaldhood, as soon as we grow big enough to realize that we are individuals, we try to find unique ways of self-growth, and sooner or later each of us comes to the idea that our own way is not exactly the path that our parents have prepared for us! Though this fact often becomes the reason of miscommunication in families, I believe that trying to develop one's own, unique way of doing things is a good quality.
Absorbing the life principles that our parents try to develop in us is not enough. Everyone builds his own set of self-rules, which is absolutely reasonable, because all this is about getting to know and then developing our SELF.
Self-discovery is a lifetime process. Let us confess that we never come to understand ourselves completely. But the more we understand about ourselves, the more attentively we listen into our own inner world, the more satisfied we can become about our lives. Life satisfaction comes with understanding of our personal needs and goals, with outlining of our unique circle of commitments, and with developing ways to balance our desires with our abilities.
There is so much talk about self-esteem, self-fulfillment and other "selves" around us today, that it is easy to get lost in all the information. We can read and hear numerous experts and amateurs telling us how others became happy in their lives, but each of us still needs to focus on his or hers.
The block of pages under the name Self-Improvement, opens the door to discussion and development of behavior that may help you to keep focusing on your self-growth, without having to read tons of books describing other people's ways to success.
