Your First Time In Her Family, by Irina Timchenko
I had a few chances to discuss the subject of today's article with my site visitors, but the topic is very important, and mny things must be told about it. I am going to talk about do's, don'ts, and howto's of meeting the family of your Ukrainian (Russian) lady for the first time. This is true - it is a very exciting and responsible moment. As we all know, there is only one chance to produce a good impression. Each man needs to be prepared to meet his woman's family, especially her parents. When you have to do this in her country, there is a vast risk area - the cultural difference, plus the language gap.
Russian Woman In Myths and Stereotypes, by Irina Timchenko
It is difficult to remain objective while talking about Russian women, for there are so many myths and beliefs about us. I am a Russian woman living in Ukraine (in my mind, the difference between Russian and Ukrainian women is not that big, so I will call all of us Russian women, meaning all Slavonic women living in the post-Soviet states). I have read hundreds of articles about Russian women - some very academic, others just intended for Internet publication, and some that deserve being places into yellow-press magazines... According to the approaches taken by the authors, all of them can be roughly divided into four categories which I have listed below today. Here are some of the notes I made while I did my analysis-
Why a Russian Wife?, by Irina Timchenko
In the 1990-s, when first foreign men came to visit Russia, they were charmed by Russian women. Those who happened to visit Moscow, Leningrad or Kiev, were amazed with the passion, bright temperament and "charming impracticism" of Slavonic women. Being classical products of the Soviet society, most of them had little idea about things like wealth, business or pragmatism, and they were very open-minded and kind-hearted. Today, the charming naivety of Soviet women is gone, but still each foreign visitor agrees about disarming femininity of Russian women. Nowhere in the world can you find so tender, sensitive and responsive women.
Why You Need to Pursue Your Ukrainian (Russian) Woman , by Kurt Inagaki
In a recent forum post, an American man wrote, "I have read previously on this board that a man needs to pursue (to be) a man. But, a woman needs to do likewise."
My initial response as an American man active pursuing a wonderfully “Ukrainian”, Ukrainian woman, was “oy, that guy is going to be disappointed”. In my opinion, this thought that Ukrainian or Russian women “need to do likewise” is in strong conflict with the culture and general core values of the women there. And yes, explaining the unexplainable (women) notwithstanding, I’m going to try anyway.
Dating Women From Russia, by Irina Timchenko
«NOT knowing how to attract women feels bad. It sucks. It leaves you feeling like you have no power in your life. It creates an underlying "distraction" that overpowers everything else... It leads to a feeling of loneliness and desperation. It leads to you feeling like a FAILURE AS A MAN. On the other hand... KNOWING how to attract women feels GOOD. It feels good to not have to buy her things because you think you have to... and it feels good not saying things you don't mean in the hopes that she'll like you...» after David Deida.
Your First Date With Russian Woman, by Irina Timchenko
Many articles, monographs, classical novels and popular movies give us numerous examples of situations when men and women more or less exactly fail to understand each other during the first face-to-face meeting. I am sorry to admit, however, that these stories neither offer us certain solutions, nor background experience which might be used in our own lives...
