Marriage and Divorce Statistics Going Down In Ukraine
According to annual state statistics report announced by Ukrainian Minister of Justice, the number of marriages and divorces in Ukraine has decreased compared to the previous year.In 2008, marriage registration offices registered 321,992 marriages, which is almost 25% less than in 2007. The number of divorces in the leap year has also decreased, from nearly 178 thousand in 2007, to 166,836 in 2008, as announced by press-service of the Ministry of Justice. Reduction in number of marriages is regarded as a traditional situation for leap years.
