Since ancient time and through centuries there have been numerous attempts to reveal mysterious dependence between people's appearances and their inside nature. It is well known that each person's character leaves traces on the person's face. Today, a number of particular traits have been studied and experts offer a well-developed system of character recognition by facial features. Let us take a look at the most common observations, which may help you assess your new contacts right at the very first meeting.

The first thing that deserves good attention is shape of the face. If the face looks prolonged and the width of the forehead is the same as the width of the chin, this characterizes a person with well-developed intellectual abilities. As a rule, such people are sensitive, emotionally responsive, but emotionally balanced. They are often reserved and can control themselves well.

The triangular faces reveal self-centered and cunning personalities. High and broad foreheads of these people, as well as well-shaped cheek-bones combined with small and sharp chin often tell about talent and extraordinary abilities of a person. But unfortunately these people are self-obsessed and are inclined to give in others.

The trapeziform faces are close to the triangular ones, but these shapes are often accompanied by broad foreheads and narrow (but not sharpened) chins. People having such features are intelligent, sensitive and artistic. Women with this shape of face are usually very optimistic. They live happily, and create happy environment around themselves.

Square-shaped faces usually belong to strong, brave and often, not very sensitive people. These people are often hard in communication, persistent and even rude. They are direct, open and sincere in dealing with others. Their most typical features are decisiveness and restless thurst for success. As a rule, they are good workers (or workaholics), and they strive for leadership.

Round faces characterize kindness, softness of character and peacefulness of mind. These people love living in comfort and having a good company. They don't need fame, though vanity is one of their main features. If an owner of a round-shaped face has high-set cheeks and nose, this (along with flashing, expressive eyes) characterizes purposefulness. These people can advance to become great leaders and war-commanders.

Now, we can take a look at the features of the face. The proportionally set eyebrows (including shape, color and thickness) demonstrate good balance of emotions, mind and character, so broad and long eyebrows are regarded as perfect. If one's eyebrows tend to grow upwards in the corners, this is a sign og generous nature and courage. These people are regarded as the ones who are born to be successful.

The eyebrows growing downwards characterize shyness. Short and thick eyebrows reveal explosive characters, and bushy eyebrows are a symbol of stubbornness. The thick connecting eyebrows are typical of dominating characters. The eyebrows sitting too high demonstrate purposefulness, and the ones sitting too low show the opposite. These principles can hardly be applied to women though, because women shape their eyebrows according to up-to-date fashion.

Let us take a look at the eyes. When the eyes are beautiful and attractive, it means that the person has good health, and is smart and active. Big eyes tell that a person is sensitive, easily touched nature, and frequent sentimental moods. Quite often, these qualities are accompanied with bravery and courage. Small eyes are usually given to self-centered, tough and a "hard-to-communicate-with" type of  people.

Set of the eyes can tell a lot about a person. If both eyes are lined symmetrically along one horizontal line, this is a good sign. If the corners of the eyes are lined downwards, it means decisiveness in men and light-mindedness in women. If the upper lid sits a bit low, this is a sign of maturity; but if a man's lower lid is "pulled" down, this means lack of energy and exhaustion. If a person's outside eyes' corners are surrounded with lots of radially directed wrinkles, this is a guarantee of dealing with a wise, penetrating person.

The nose, not being as revealing as the eyes, is still a good point to survey. Those who have rounded tips of the noses and well-shaped nostrils are considered having strong will. A long nose is a sign of  a so-called "bright" personality, but a short nose is a symbol of open-heartedness and optimism.

A person whose nose tip reminds a hanging drop is usually optimistic; if the nose tip reminds you of an eagle's beak, this person is  проницателен, witty and never forgets offenses. A thick tip of the nose is given to warm, open-hearted people, the pointed nose is a sign of a shrewd, astute and knowledgeable person. The noses which seem to have two tips characterize shyness.

The mouth always attracts attention of our communication partners. Big mouths are good signs of courage. When the corners of the lips are turned down, they characterize strong will. Those who have small mouths usually have weaker characters; thin, firmly closed lips reveal people who are scruptulous and very sensitive to details. People who can control their emotions usually have symmetric lips; their lips remain symmetric and well-balanced even when they talk.

The ears which are nicely shaped always characterize good health, while shapeless, pale ears tell about the opposite.

As a rule, those who have big ear laps are wise and sophisticated. If the ear lap is slightly shifted forward, it reveals a kind, responsive person.

No need to say that these characteristics may now always be true, because each person combines a huge number of unique features that interact wit each other creating a unique personality type and of course, a unique appearance.
