More Ukrainian Women Seek Marriage Abroad Because Of the Crisis

The life instability and recess make more and more women in Ukraine to seek for marriages abroad. This information is being provided by marriage and dating services to mass media in all larger cities in Ukraine. It is also confirmed by local organs of state statistics all over Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the 2009, the number of individual men visiting Ukraine from North America, UK and EU, with the purpose of marriage has almost doubled (compared to the same period of the 2008), and the tendency continues to grow.

In their turn, Russian women, being internationally regarded as «perfect» wives and mothers, are more and more interested in marrying the men fro the West, for these marriages provide the better guarantees of secure, safe and comfortable life. Many women are losing jobs in Ukraine these days. Lack of stability and tough financial situation pushes these women to become more active in making decisions about their personal lives. The most affected poopulation category which is practically brought to panic today are siongle mothers, who are desperately trying to create safe, comfortable lifestyles for themselves and their children. Women in Ukraine prefer to create families under the formula: «Happy Relationship + Stability = Good Family», expecting that their relationship with a foreign man from the Western world will ensure that the formula will work.

In this situation, dating and marriage agencies in Ukraine anticipate a big inflow of women's profiles into their women's catalogs this year. As the services are 100% free for women in most of the marriage companies, there is little risk in joining the catalogs for the charming Russian brides. A representative of an American dating service in Kiev said in his interview to Ukrainian weekly magazine Podrobnosti: "Even if a meeting with a lady does not result in any relationship, the woman will at least spend a night in a nice environment, and will enjoy a great dinner in a good restaurant with her one-night foreign date. In the time of crisis, this is going to bring her some satisfaction. To the man, the meeting in the agency, plus the dinner, is going to cost two or three hundred dollars, though". Quite a cynical remark, though, in some cases it is true.

At tne same time, there are more and more women in Ukraine today whose only goal is to live simple, comfortable and stable life. Many Ukrainian women confess that they would gladly give up spending 4 nights a week in restaurants dining with different men, to seeing the same (ant the only) man by their side every night. A stable relationship in itself can bring a relieving feeling of stability.

However funny it sounds, many Ukrainian women today begin to consider money as a secondary thing in life. Achieving a stable relationship is becoming a task number one to them.

According to press releases in local Ukrainian newspapers, some foreign visitors make benefit of the situation. Some of them come to Ukraine with real purpose of marriage; others visit Ukraine out of curiosity — to see with their own eyes, whether the Ukrainian women are really so attractive, and how good are the chances to find a wife and a lifetime friend in a beautiful, charming and feminine lady, who may be 15-20 years younger but very educated and smart.
